'Rust' crew member who called 911 after fatal movie-set shooting sues Alec Baldwin, producers17/11/2021
![]() The script supervisor who called 911 after the fatal "Rust" movie-set shooting in October is the latest crew member to sue Alec Baldwin and others. An attorney for Mamie Mitchell announced Wednesday she filed a lawsuit that "contains new allegations" concerning Baldwin's fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the New Mexico set of the Western. Mitchell previously told the Associated Press she was standing next to Hutchins when the cinematographer was hit. "I ran out and called 911 and said 'Bring everybody, send everybody,'" Mitchell said. "This woman is gone at the beginning of her career. She was an extraordinary, rare, very rare woman." Her 911 call alerted authorities to the shooting. "We had two people accidentally shot on a movie set by a prop gun, we need help immediately," Mitchell told an emergency dispatcher. "We were rehearsing and it went off, and I ran out, we all ran out." The dispatcher asked if the gun was loaded with a real bullet. "I cannot tell you. We have two injuries," Mitchell replied. "And this [expletive] AD [assistant director] that yelled at me at lunch, asking about revisions ,.. He's supposed to check the guns. He's responsible for what happens on the set." Mitchell's lawsuit joins Serge Svetnoy's, which was filed last week. Svetnoy, head of lighting on the film, alleged negligence that caused him "severe emotional distress" that will haunt him forever. Svetnoy's lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, names nearly two dozen defendants associated with the film including Baldwin, who was both star and a producer; David Halls, the assistant director who handed Baldwin the gun; and Hannah Gutierrez Reed, who was in charge of weapons on the set Adele-Oprah Special Drew 10.3 Million Viewers, Closely Followed by “Yellowstone” on Cable17/11/2021
![]() The Adele-Oprah special on CBS was a big hit. The show hit 10.3 million viewers and was the top entertainment show for the night on broadcast TV. The only programming that beat it was NFL football and “60 Minutes” preceding. “One Night Only” was closely followed by “Yellowstone” on cable’s Paramount Network with 7.4 million viewers. Over on HBO, “Succession” rose to 584,000 viewers, a big leap from the previous three weeks. “Curb Your Enthusiasm” also really improved, up to 527,000 after a couple of weeks in the 300K range. The Oprah-Adele special was kind of a doorstop the way it was set up, not really a concert but pieces of one broken up by insipid interview questions about Adele’s divorce. It was as if Oprah never met anyone who’d been divorced. Adele’s hits were great, and Ben Winston’s production made the Griffith Observatory glow. But Adele’s new songs are like sleeping pills. ![]() Irv Gotti has criticized Ashanti for deciding to re-record her debut album. The Murder Inc. co-founder accused Ashanti of trying to bilk him out of his masters on Tuesday. Irv Gotti made the claim while commenting on an Instagram clip posted by Angie Martinez, who spoke to Ashanti about why the singer is remaking her self-titled LP. Earlier this year, Ashanti announced she’s re-recording her first studio LP to own her masters. It’s the same strategy employed by Taylor Swift, who has remade two previously released albums – Fearless and Red – to accomplish the same goal. Ashanti’s self-titled debut dropped via Island Def Jam and Irv Gotti’s Murder Inc. label in 2002. The LP peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. ![]() GQ is one of the most trusted commercial fashion magazines for men. At the end of each year, they release a list of their "Men of the Year" list, in which they highlight the distinct, admirable styles of different celebrity men with cover stories. The first on their year-end list was Lil Nas X, fresh off releasing his debut album Montero, which was accompanied by a collection of extravagant music videos and promotional appearances where he wore a wide variety of flamboyant and colorful outfits. Being exuberant with his appearance has always been Nas X's brand, and helped to forward his advocacy for self-expression. He first became vocal about this issue when he revealed he was gay in the summer of 2019. Since then, there have been many who have criticized his lifestyle and approach, but he feeds off the energy of his haters. He considers himself a pioneer for the LGBTQ+ in the music industry and in hip-hop, although iLoveMakonnen insisted he started the wave of gay rappers. Regardless, in his interview with GQ, Lil Nas X explained that gay rappers like him are only the beginning of a cultural shift in hip-hop that will see more LGBTQ+ artists in the near future: "The whole landscape is very hyper-masculine. I do feel like this newer generation of rappers who are coming in, and the ones who are here, are going to have to reshape their thoughts. Because change is happening. There’s going to be so many gay rappers. There’s going to be more trans people in the industry and what not. Ten years from now, everything that I’m doing won’t even seem like it was shocking." ![]() Like many of us, the pandemic took a toll on Will Smith's mental and physical health. The actor updated fans on Instagram that, over quarantine, he was focused on getting into the best shape of his life -- a journey that he shares on YouTube through a six-part docu-series. The Best Shape Of My Life, Smith details underlying mental health problems that he faced while trying to lose 20 pounds in twenty weeks. "I thought I was getting into the best shape of my life, physically. But mentally, I was somewhere else. And I ended up discovering a whole lotta hidden things about myself," he says in the trailer. Smith reveals he came to realize he "didn't know" much about himself in the process of working on his autobiography. Another scene of the Smith family at a round table revealed snippets of a conversation where Smith says, "that was the only time in my life that I ever considered suicide." The actor explains in a voiceover that beyond getting into shape, The Best Shape Of My Life will dive into his most vulnerable side. "What you've come to understand as Will Smith -- the alien-annihilating MC, bigger-than-life movie star -- is largely a construction. A carefully crafted and honed character designed to protect myself, to hide myself from the world. To hide the coward," he says. ![]() By the looks of things, Travis Scott will be facing legal troubles for some time. From one day to the next, the Grammy-nominated rapper went from being one of the top-selling, most sought-after artists in the industry to companies and peers keeping their distance. In total, 10 people have died as a result of the dangerous crowd surge at Scott's coveted Astroworld Festival, and it has been reported that at least 100 others were injured. Almost immediately, there was news of lawsuits being filed against Scott, Drake, Apple, and Live Nation, and yesterday (November 16), TMZ claimed that the number of victims looking to take someone to court has increased. Due to the high-profile nature of this tragedy, victims have been quick to lawyer up. Some attorneys have even resorted to place Astroworld ads on social media to bulk up their client lists, and it has helped build a massive new case against Scott and festival organizers. The suit, filed by Houston attorney Tony Buzbee, is the first of others to come and places the blame on Travis and concert organizers for negligence in failing to properly plan the concert, train security personnel and host a safe event. Buzbee is reportedly representing 125 fans in the $750 million lawsuit including the family of 21-year-old Axel Acosta who lost his life in the mayhem. In the suit, it states that Acosta was "crushed" by an "incited, unruly and out-of-control crowd with such force that he could no longer breathe." The astronomical $750 million is reportedly slated to cover medical costs, "physical and mental health injuries as well as the loss of life." Meanwhile, Scott's attorney told TMZ that the rapper has been holed up in his home since the tragedy and has been reaching out to the families affected by this fatal event. ![]() Those conservatorship days are over for Britney Spears and now the 39-year-old is enjoying her new taste of freedom. It was about 14 years ago when Spears lost control of her life after a judge ordered several people to hold down her conservatorship. It was well known that the singer could not handle her affairs or finances from that point forward, but it was only this year when the world deceived a full scope of what Spears had endured for over a decade. Spears would tell a judge that she can't get her birth control removed or make decisions about her life, and yesterday (November 16), the singer returned to address fan questions about what she would do now that her conservatorship has ended. "I mean who knows … I do know how embarrassing is to share the fact I’ve never seen cash or wasn’t able to drive my car," wrote Spears on Instagram. "But honestly it still blows my mind every day I wake up how my family and the conservatorship were able to do what they did to me … it was demoralizing and degrading !!!! I’m not even mentioning all the bad things they did to me which they should all be in jail for … yes including my church going mother !!!!" "I’m used to keeping peace for the family and keeping my mouth shut … but not this time … I have NOT FORGOTTEN and I hope they can look up tonight and know EXACTLY WHAT I MEAN !!!!" In a video upload, Spears expressed her excitement about having the keys to her car, exercising her independence, having an ATM card, and being able to buy candles for herself. ![]() French Montana has been moving with a chip on his shoulder. I didn’t want to make products to mask people, I wanted to highlight them and make them feel beautiful,” Styles said in a press release, according to a report by PEOPLE. The 27-year-old singer’s first product line will focus on nail lacquers. “It’s starting with nail polish, because that was kind of the birth of what it was for,” Styles told Dazed in a recent cover story. “Me seeing a color on a flower or a wallpaper or something and thinking, ‘Oh, I wanna put that on my nails.'” “It was a fun little project, but during the pandemic, and when we eventually named it Pleasing, it felt like it was so much more than nail polish,” he added. In addition to his four pearl-inspired nail polishes, Styles will also be introducing skincare with his first launch, reports PEOPLE. The two innovations include the “Pleasing Pen” — a dual-ended lip and eye serum — and the “Pearlescent Illuminating Serum.” “The Pleasing Pen is great because if you’re feeling a little less than lovely you can refresh yourself anywhere,” Styles said in a press release. “The lip oil dries matte in about a minute, perfect to give yourself a mini massage with the eye serum. Last year, Styles posed for American Vogue‘s December issue as the first solo male cover star in the fashion magazine’s history, wearing women’s clothing. Like many others, conservative author Candace Owens slammed Styles’ Vogue cover shoot as “an outright attack” on men and proclaimed that “the steady feminization of our men” is harmful to society. “There is no society that can survive without strong men. The East knows this. In the west, the steady feminization of our men at the same time that Marxism is being taught to our children is not a coincidence. It is an outright attack,” Owens said. “Bring back manly men.” Source: Breitbart Former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson tests positive for coronavirus and will miss upcoming show16/11/2021
